Pharmacy Volunteering and Internship in Tanzania

Art in Tanzania’s Pharmacy Africa internship offers students the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills built at university to develop economic conditions, gain hands-on practical experience, and help contribute to real social improvement. We currently support local village pharmacies and more significant pharmacies in the Dar es Salaam region to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care for the community. Interns will work under a local pharmacist’s direct supervision and control, such as removing drugs from stock, counting, pouring, or mixing pharmaceuticals, placing products into a container, affixing labels, and packaging and repackaging.

Tanzanian pharmacies are far from western standards. Specifically, small village pharmacies need training and advocacy to develop their quality. Bring your education and knowledge to the African pharmacy operations and provide much-needed assistance to the community to create medical services. Large pharmacies

Work with pharmacology professionals, apply your knowledge and skills to practical situations, engage with patients, and give advice and support, such as removing drugs from stock, counting, pouring, or mixing pharmaceuticals, placing products into a container, affixing labels to containers, and packaging and repackaging.

Village pharmacies

Work closely with small community pharmacies to deliver vital medical information and experience, help patients, train staff, advocate on core topics, and engage in hands-on practical experience.

It is advisable to understand how the smaller Tanzanian pharmacies operate as it makes you better understand how poverty affects the standard of the village pharmacies.
