Mama Mkubwa Project - Community House in Madale

Art in Tanzania wants to build a community house in a fairly poor village in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam called Madale. In the community house there will be offered education in sexual health, sexuality, pregnancy, HIV/Aids seminars etc., and the women will here learn how to win a discussion in their household, of whether or not money should be spend on doctor's visits before, during and after giving birth. Besides being an educational place for the young women of the community, the classrooms will also function as a nursery
school, adult education and educational help for disabled and handicapped children - children who normally do not stand a chance in this life. Furthermore the community house will become a creative gathering place for exploring arts, music, singing, dancing and a lot more.

You can also donate money for our emergency cash fund. These donations go to the most at need projects. We use this money to pay for example school fees for the poorest children or for medical care for orphans when needed. Even a small amount can help. A malaria test and treatment in Tanzania costs only 10 USD, but can save a child's life.

Volunteers, interns and tourists joining our programs can bring material donations with them to be disrtibuted at the location where they are participating. There are many needs at medical clinics, schools and orphanages. You can contact us beforehand to discuss what kind of items would be most needed.

If you are not coming to Tanzania yourself, but would like to donate materials to any of our projects, you may This email address is being protected from spambots.
