Textile & Clothing Artisan

volunteer intern textile artisanClothing artisan work is an ongoing common business in Tanzania where local tailors typically make personalized clothing for the customer. Also like wedding ceremonies, they have a theme for the clothing and all participants, at least the relatives are to follow the selected designing mode.

Art in Tanzania has an ongoing and growing Fair Trade program in Tanzania. We have been lately separating us from the formal Fair Trade system as it is restricting the small producers to sell their products as the Fair Trade organizations demand them to have the Fair Trade status that they cannot achieve and this the official Fair Trade system is only supporting the middlemen, not the actual small producer.  Therefore Art in Tanzania is focusing to help the local small producers in designs, selection of materials and thereon giving visibility for the products as well as looking for the sales outlets in and outside Tanzania.

Art in Tanzania has also it’s own batik making line that can be used for creative designs.
